At Northstar we approach learning through the understanding that within the context of community and relationships we are spurred to think more deeply, love more authentically, and approach our faith more holistically. We call this a relational model of education: creating an environment in which students and teacher/volunteers engage in learning experiences that are rooted in a deep sense of belonging, one to another.

Each member actively takes ownership in the community by contributing to the learning experiences and relationships. It is learning as a teacher alongside the apprentice (versus expert in front of pupil).

We desire to engage students with both academic material that points them to Jesus, as well as people who are tangibly pointing them to Jesus through relationship and prayer. A key to ensuring that this kind of environment is created is having a high number of adults (teacher/volunteers) coming alongside students, consistently.

Thus, we need you! Do you enjoy getting to know students, discussing Jesus, the Bible, your faith, your career, your hobbies, or your testimony? Do you desire to be involved in coming alongside the next generation and giving them courage and strength to live for Jesus?
